For some reason life is ten times harder when Harrison refuses to take an afternoon nap. Such was the case today. By 530 when Cory got home I was just about at the end of my rope running around chasing the whiney, tired, adorable, starving ridiculous, wonderful, accident-prone, crazy, fabulous boy. Plus I was stressed about how to get done all of the things I hadn't done during naptime and still get to bed at a reasonable hour and be ready to go to work tomorrow.
Then my awesome husband agreed to watch monkey face AND put him to bed so I could work out and take a shower.
And then I made this salad (with other, non-life-changing, stuff) for dinner... BLISS....ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!!!!
so simple and so yummy --I got the idea from an olive oil commercial.
Ingredients:
Baby Arugula
Feta Cheese
Almonds
Sliced Green Onions
Mix ingredients and dress lightly with olive oil and salt and pepper. THAT'S IT. YUM YUM. My new fave!

know what I mean?
Although I've become MUCH more of a neat freak since being a mom, I still can't bear to clean off those little itty bitty handprints Harrison seems to leave around the house. He's only going to be small for a little while and I just need to eat it up while it lasts. (fyi that is looking out a window in the kitchen...)

Au Gratin?
Tonight I asked Cory how he wanted me to cook the potatoes I had planned on having with dinner.
The last time I asked him this question he said mashed and they came out awful ( I think it is because I always forget to start the taters in cold water). Hoping to redeem myself, when he said au gratin I said ok, found a recipe, and made it happen. Despite having to be cooked for AN HOUR AND A HALF it was so worth it. You should make these if you like potatoes swimming in yummy cheese sauce (and who doesn't??).

(And it's a good thing they were delicious because the pork tenderloin I made with them was NASTY...oh well, I prefer side dishes anyway.)

Summer iS HERE!!!
It is officially Summertime!!! I'm not sure what I did last summer but this summer the heat has meant lots of playing outside with the hose, swimming, and visiting various splash pads and fountains. Harrison LOVES outside, LOVES the water, LOVES exploring and hurting himself and getting little chubby red cheeks and bruises and bumps and scratches..BRING IT ON!!!
Why is my silly mom trying to take pictures of me??
Monkey Face LOVES dropping things in the pool...especially ROCKS
Mommy--you need to stay hydrated-have some water?
Rocks need water too!!
OOH--What's over there?? Something I can climb on???
In other news--here's some fun with links
I have been working here for the last month and a half --it's averaged from 3-5 days a week
Starting next week I will be here on Wednesdays and Fridays ( yeah that's the super close one..yippee for working in Chandler and minimizing the commute) ---hoping one of them will someday turn into a real job :)
And occasionally I still write stuff for this for fun.
Also, for the last SIX LONG DAYS Cory has been here learning about how to make iphone and ipad apps..and basking in apple steve jobs glory..
HE COMES BACK IN T-MINUS EIGHT HOURS!! WOO HOO!!!!
