The Reston zoo is the perfect place to spend 1.5 hrs, get up close and personal with the animals, and then go home for lunch and nap time!

Never want to forget
Right now Harrison and Carter are at a stage where they are just so sweet and caring to each other. I think Harrison has a natural sweet/sensitive side and he always wants to make sure Carter is happy. It's my favorite thing. While there are times he doesn't want to share with her when she wants something just because he has it, 9 out of 10 he will just hand it over or is happy to give her a turn. And when she's crying for no reason (besides the fact that she is 19 months old and needy) he always asks if he can carry her when I'm busy and can't pick her up. And once in awhile he will lead her upstairs to show her something and downstairs to play and she dutifully follows him, super excited to tag along (we live for those moments). Carter does it back too and is a natural little helper. When Harrison had time out the other day and was on the couch crying she went upstairs and got him his kermit doll. And when she goes upstairs to get her blankie (which happens a lot) she'll bring him one of his blankets as well. Yesterday he accidentally ripped off part of his fingernail (OUCH) and was super sad so she kept bringing him toys. LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Sometimes age 4 and 1 and a half is super hard and sometimes it is just plain awesome.
of course they were tired of sitting as soon as I zoomed the camera in a bit :)
