Firsts

Harrison has had a few fun firsts lately. I LOVE introducing him to new things and seeing his excitement with EVERYTHING! (well...most of the time...)

First long-ish (like a block or two)with his monkey "backpack"

First Picture to hang on the fridge--courtesy of an IHOP visit this saturday after Cory's follow up LASIK appointment
My boy is so TALENTED!!!!

And why not kill two birds with one stone..FIRST PANCAKES!! YUMMY!!!!

Oh yeah and on Friday--first fro yo

He really preferred eating it to getting his picture taken (and yes that flower is purple...I know he's a boy....)

MORE MOMMY MORE!!!!

Apple Sauce and Cheez its Don't Come Free!!!

Harrison has finally caught on to my subtle hints about pulling his own weight around here.
First the laundry

And of course vacuuming
Make sure you get all of the dust out of the air, Harrison!

And off the table of course! (don't you just love our mismatched chairs)
And we really need to discuss the dress code...I'm not sure jammies are appropriate for work...
I promise he does smile...not that I can ever get it on camera....
hmmm...what happens when I put my finger in here??
Cool!!!

I wanted to post this as my facebook status but it was too long...

In an effort to not rain on the obama happy parades by commenting on others' facebook status, let me just provide my top five reasons why Obama has NOT made the world a better place and solved all of our problems with this one: 1. States cannot afford the medicaid expansion 2. The only reason this is so "fiscally sound" is via huge medicare cuts and more taxes. 3. what's with finding more money by requiring all students loans to be from the federal government?? not bad in itself necessarily but what does it have to do with healthcare??? 4. Forcing people to buy health insurance just feels constitutionally shady--it's not quite the same as forcing people to buy car insurance because that at least can be painted as a cost of using public roads. 5. You couldn't even convince ONE crazy republican to vote for it?? really??? All this seems to add up to is higher premiums that those of us who have health insurance cannot afford. Why would you want to force hardworking, educated Americans into Medicaid? I suppose one step closer to the single payer government run healthcare you all want right?? Awesome. Please explain to me why I'm wrong. I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow I will wake up and this bill really will have made it rain cupcakes and put diamonds on everyone's mailbox. Harrison and I have turned off Fox News and will be watching Sesame Street if you need us.

What we do for fun

Yesterday we celebrated St. Patrick's day by wearing green, making green sugar cookies, and eating free burritos at baja fresh

Harrison LOVES cookies. If we have cookies we have to hide them or he'll see them and start squeaking and pointing until he gets one....
Today we went to the park for play group and Harrison really needed to play in the sand with the big kids

Not bad considering the size of the shovel

This afternoon I was reading my cute awesome new mom of 3 friend Heidi's blog and Harrison decided to climb into the fireplace. He had soot all over his hands, face, the back of his head...this was the best pic I could get

A middle of the day bath was necessary

This kid is so much fun. More and more all the time. Lately he LOVES to:
climb up on the ottoman/coffee table
"surf/dance" on my lap desk (also on top of a table...more climbing...)
play outside in our non grass backyard and throw rocks in the pool
say hi to EVERYONE
say uh oh
hum to himself
imitate animal noises
throw the kitty's toys and try to get her to play
feed himself with a spoon (for awhile and then just eat applesauce with his hands after discovering it is more efficient)
and just be all around awesome
every day cory and I wonder how we got such a freaking cute kid

oh yeah...and somehow he figured out how to whistle :) LOVE YOU BUG FACE!!!

(don't worry that's frosting...I didn't give him something with raw eggs in it.....)

PARTY!!!

Yesterday I helped throw a baby shower for my awesome lifelong friend Jen. She is seriously the cutest prego girl ever and I LOVED LOVED planning the party. Shannon and Lisa were my partners in crime and they did fantastically with decorations and games (I was in charge of food...surprised???). Everything turned out perfect. Food (too much, just how it should be), fun games, decorating onesies, gifts, friends, yay! It made me want to plan lots and lots of parties! If anyone is having a baby or getting married or just wants to celebrate themselves, let me know :)

Beautiful flowers, fruit salad provided by Jen's sis in law Kim, almond chicken salad, pesto spinach salad provided by Jen's sis in law Deirdre, mini sandwiches with proscuito and arugala...YUM....
