The first time he did this, his binkie was actually missing (I think...).
Enjoy!! (I think you will especially like his little gymnastics break...and our ghetto broken dresser...Craigslist is not always a good thing apparently...)

H man at almost SIXTEEN MONTHS!!!!
Just so you know:
Harrison is SO funny-he makes us laugh constantly with his funny faces, laughs, giggles, and how he seems to find trouble EVERYWHERE (he climbs on shelves, on the kitchen table, on the toilet, it's not fun if it's not dangerous, right??)
His favorite word is for sure Hi with Daddy followed closely behind. He says Hi CONSTANTLY to everyone. I love it when it's everyone we pass by at the grocery store (whether or not they notice..and when we get to the checkout he just keeps telling the cashier over and over)
I'm pretty sure he thinks both of us are daddy but it still bugs that I can't get him to say mommy very often. He's started screaming daddy and running after him when he knows Cory is going to work...I love how much he loves his daddy!!!
He also says random words on occasion like bye, baby, pickle, cracker, doggie, binky, bath, kitty, etc. And then the rest of the time he just blabs on and on and I know I should have some magical ability to understand what he means but ...not quite yet.
He loves to dance and listen to music--he sings along when I sing the ABC song. He loves watching sesame street (elmo) and listening to our winnie the pooh cd in the car. I would have to say that his favorite song though is from the baskin robbins ice cream cake commercial--nothing better than dancing ice cream and cake!!!
He pays more and more attention to books these days--really looking at the pictures as he turns the pages. Not that I can get him to sit still when I read him a story before bed but I keep trying!
He thinks the weirdest things are funny--who knew that putting an empty water bottle under the water in the bathtub to make bubbles could provide endless enjoyment???
Favorite foods: crackers, cookies, bananas (oh yeah and he says "manana"), apple juice, leftover easter jellybeans, macaroni and cheese, and WHATEVER ANYONE ELSE IS EATING...AT ANY TIME!!!
His favorite thing EVER is definitely to be outside. It doesn't matter if it's the park our outside our house..If you open the door you better watch out! He wants out and NOW!!!!
He doesn't do kisses but he gives the BEST hugs EVER!!!
He still takes two naps (lucky me!!) and is a pretty good sleeper at night when his paranoid mama isn't checking on him constantly.....
We just love Harrison to death and he brings so much joy to our lives everyday. There is nothing better than getting up in the morning to get up this happy boy playing in his crib (after listening to him say hi to the baby monitor for 20 minutes or so) and attacking him when I get home from work.

What's with the hair kid?
Thanks to his parents, Harrison has really light wispy hair...and it likes to go in all kinds of directions. I've tried to cut it ,but maybe he needs a professional. Who knows. For now--I think wild is the way to go.
Also you might notice he's got a LOT of teeth in these pics---he went from three to like ten overnight I sware :)

Apple Sauce and Cheez its Don't Come Free!!!
Harrison has finally caught on to my subtle hints about pulling his own weight around here.
First the laundry

And of course vacuuming

Make sure you get all of the dust out of the air, Harrison!
And off the table of course! (don't you just love our mismatched chairs)
And we really need to discuss the dress code...I'm not sure jammies are appropriate for work...
I promise he does smile...not that I can ever get it on camera....
hmmm...what happens when I put my finger in here??
Cool!!!

Daredevil
Since Harrison started walking like a champ we've been going to the park a lot. He LOVES it. Today I got some video of him playing around. He has no fear. Such a boy.

new tricks
So, last week I broke down and bought Harrison the second toy I've ever purchased for full price (you'd be amazed at what you can get at the thrift store for like $1.99). A walker. He loves it, but mostly to play with the little balls and shapes and stuff..... and of course to turn it over and try to break it. For walking he really prefers a chair. Please try to ignore the wet spots on his jammies...I promise those are from the pears he just ate and are not what you are thinking.

NINE MONTHS!!!
Here are some of Harrison's fun 9 month things to do
--scoot himself ALL over the place--and fast. Especially if he sees something he wants, in which case the scoot is accompanied by excited panting.
--go from sitting to crawling to sitting again
--pull himself up on things-he tries to climb the stairs, tries to climb into cupboards and on shelves, in his crib etc etc etc. So far it's just up to his knees or occasionally he's on hands and feet with his butt up in the air :)
--roll over and grab the wall while getting his diaper changed. And he screams when I make him stay still......apparently getting out of a poopy diaper is SO not worth it.
-hunt down cords wherever they may be in our house (which is surprisingly a LOT of places) -he LOVES cords--right in the mouth they go.
-sneak into the bathroom, sit on the floor and open and close the door, or dump the garbage can over..sheesh!!
-chase the cat all over the house or stare at her out the window. If Harrison gets close enough he pulls out clumps of hair. She hasn't attacked yet but I don't know how much longer she can take the abuse.
--ride on mommy and daddy's shoulders--and grab their hair TIGHTLY like reins
--laugh his head off if you stick your tongue out at him. Daddy's tongue is PARTICULARLY hilarious.
--smile at EVERYONE who catches his eye. Particularly little kids. And the freak outs with new people are becoming less and less frequent. He even loves Lisa's dogs now!!!
--drool all over the place because he's teething like crazy--he has two teeth on the bottom and I'm sure more are coming soon.
--play with BIG things. If it's a toy it is sort of a amusing. If it's bigger than him, he wants to grab it and play with it.
Harrison is just such a sweet baby. I love him being mobile because he is SO much better at amusing himself (despite me having to keep constant watch of him). I can't believe he's NINE MONTHS old!! Time sure flies by but it just seems to keep getting better and better!!!
